Skills, certificates, and games

Showcase what you have learned and built.

What are skills on my profile?

Skills fall under one of five domains: Game Design, Go to Market, Engineering, Art, or Marketing & Production. As you complete our programs, you will earn XP across these different skills, allowing learners to earn verifiable digital badges for specific skills across the domains of game making and future-ready skills (collaboration, leadership).

What is XP and how do I earn it?

Each task gives you a set amount of XP when you complete it. Tasks are linked to one or more subdomains and skills. XP can be verified through a checklist, peer review, an automated system, or mentor confirmation. This ensures that the XP you earn reflects real learning and progress.

You can learn more about XP here.

How do I earn certificates and microcredentials?

Microcredentials are earned by reaching an XP threshold within a specific program. Each credential has its own requirement:

  • Introduction to Game Making with Godot: earn 1,500 XP in Explore: Godot (~15 hours)
  • Community Game Making: earn 2,000 XP in Core: Threadbare (~24 hours)
  • Applied Game Making: Concept to Canon: earn 1,000 XP in a Lore Jam (~10 hours)

Once you hit the threshold, you will see a notification on your dashboard to claim your credential. The credential is issued by the ASU Endless Games and Learning Lab and will appear on your profile once issued.
