New here? This page covers everything you need to know to find your way around the platform and start making games.
Start here if you're brand new to Endless Access.
The Endless platform is free to access and open to everyone. Anyone can create an account, explore resources, and join the community. It hosts programs with partners, but you don't need to be in a program to use it.
Inside the platform, you'll find learning materials, community discussions, events, and feedback spaces.
The platform is open to educators, facilitators, learners aged 13+, community organizations, partners, mentors, and developers.
Children under 13 are not permitted without parental consent.
Games are one of the most complex things humans make. They combine art, storytelling, engineering, design, and collaboration all at once. Learning to make games builds skills that transfer everywhere: creative problem-solving, iteration, teamwork, and seeing a project through from idea to finished product.
At Endless Access, you're contributing to Threadbare, a real, live, open-source game, which means your work actually ships. That's a portfolio piece, a credential, and a genuine creative contribution, all in one.
Not at all. Our Explore programs are built for beginners, with no prior coding or game-making experience required. You'll learn by doing: modifying real games, experimenting with tools, and building things step by step with support from guides and mentors.
If you want to go deeper into code down the line, Explore: Godot introduces GDScript (Godot's beginner-friendly scripting language) in a hands-on way. But you can participate fully from day one without writing a single line of code.
Endless is made up of three connected parts. Here's what each one does.
Endless is the brand behind a growing ecosystem of creative ventures, including Endless Studios and Endless Access.
Endless Access is our non-profit dedicated to expanding access and opportunity in game-making education.
Endless Studios is the studio powering this platform and other creative experiences.
Open source and open licenses are core to our mission: if knowledge is locked, it is not truly accessible. Scale is only possible when ideas, code, and content can be reused, remixed, and redistributed freely.
All of our curriculum is released under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Once you're signed in, here's how to navigate the platform.

Welcome to Threadbare, an open-source game where imagination, storytelling, and game development come together.
We built the foundation of the game world, and learners build upon it by creating quests, stories, and creative twists, making Threadbare both a game and a shared learning experience.
